Let’s talk about stress.
Making being overstressed less Normal
Let’s talk about stress. No matter what, you will have stress. We must stop living in a mindset that stress consumes us or controls us. Did you know that both toxic stress and happy stress puts stress on the body?? Haha, right? Yep. You will always have stress. Let’s accept it and stop making it a burden.
Toxic and bad stress does feel different in our body, than good stress does. They activate different hormones and carry differently in our bodies. They cause more strain on our systems and leave negative residue in our bodies. Let’s focus on reducing the bad stress to give more space for the good.
Stress is real and it is going to be a part of your life. Let’s move forward in life without chasing an illusion that what we feel is not normal and one day we will achieve something magical that stops our stress, so then, we can look at ourselves in the mirror and think “Now, I am successful and content in my life. Wow, I am stress free and safe on all levels.”
We are all chasing silly ideas that are just not worth chasing. We have stress stacked on top of stress, on top of stress. I have learned this repeatedly and yet, I just recently decided to listen or more like, surrender and trust. I think the biggest brick that hit me was how many times I have gone from happy, to not happy. I felt stressed in both scenarios. They just felt and made me feel different on different levels. Like everyone else, daily life is work. Adulting is work.
Now for my hardest, yet most effect way to lower stress.
Mindset Hack #1: What you constantly think about, is was your life centers its attraction to.
Take a minute. What is your biggest stress? How much do you think about it in a day? How much space do you allow it to take up in your physical body? How much does it affect your mood and your prospective?
The one thing that you think about the most is what your energy is centered on. If this is something positive, congratulations! That is wonderful. You have done the healing and mindset work!
If this main stress is not good, let’s move forward. What you think about the most is what your energy centers on and what your brain keeps in its thoughts. It takes up space and doesn’t allow much else in there. We are talking about brain fog, lack of focus or recall, yes headaches and even neck tension. It also affects the functions of your body and can cause inflammation, disrupt your digestive tract and even throw off your hormones. Yes, thoughts are that powerful.
So, how do we have this stress, but slow it down or shut it off to where it is not causing physical harm and we are not focusing on keeping in alignment with it?
With this concept.
Say your main thoughts go towards money that you do not have for a nice house. This puts pressure on you to work more, even if you don’t love your job, to worry about every expense and constantly be in the narrative of not being happy where you are and being stuck, waiting for the future. The more you think about this, the more stressed you are, the less your body has for energy and the less motivation you have to work harder to save more or change your circumstance. You subconsciously, start to feel less comfortable in your current house and find more and more ways you are unhappy where you are living.
Energetically, where thought goes, energy follows. So, if you are in a constant state of not enough and worry without a mindset of gratitude, your thoughts go out into the universe and bring you blocks that continue to knock you down, so you stay in the state of mind that you are in. This actually makes it harder to move past and change your current situation. Wait? So, if you have a raise coming, where you can get a better house, but you are focused on what you don’t or cannot have, your constant thoughts will put situations and instances in your way that make it harder to achieve what you need? Yes. That raise was meant for you in 4 months, but now it will not be for say, 1 year or more.
Yep, we are always on our destined path, but our mindset and believe system determines how that path is experienced.
So, what you need to do is consciously shift that narrative in your head. You need to be able to look at each day and think about what you think about the most and it must be more positive than negative. This takes time and effort, but it will work and it will be easier. You must surrender and trust that everything you need is coming and have faith in that.
Do you realize you have a destined path that is for your highest and best good? You should. You need to.
A simple way to focus on this is a writing exercise. Write out what you are thinking about the most. Now, look at it and think about if each one is positive and helpful to your goals and a life of gratitude or if it fuels negativity and stress. You can also, record yourself talking about what your main thoughts are and rewatch it, if you are more visual.
Then, rewrite it to be more positive. Focus your energy on shifting the stressful repetition to positive thoughts that empower you and solve in a helpful and balanced way.
You can do this every am or once a week! You will notice your daily mind stress improves!!
Let’s use an example to continue this mindset. You want a nicer house, you are in fear and obsession over how the house you are in is not good enough and you need more money to get a nicer one.
So, instead of piling up the thoughts of what is preventing you and what you do not have. Instead of constantly talking about it and putting it into power with actions, thoughts and words; you are going to fill your mind and heart with goals and budgeting plans you have for the money you have (as if it is yours). Yes. This is also helpful because you will be ready when you get a raise or the house becomes available, and you do have the money. Think as if it is already yours and be thankful for it. See it in the bank. Speak about it, to yourself. Delete the negative conversations. Write it out. Think about it often. Close your eyes and feel how good it feels to be ahead and saving. How good it feels to see the house you want to purchase and you get the call it is yours. The more you dream, the more you activate your mind to feel it and go get it.
Here is another example. You want to lose weight. You literally do everything and nothing comes off. You obsess over it, you talk about it, and you live this every single day. Your body and mind hear everything you say. So, he hears “I cannot lose weight.” Guess what? So, it doesn’t. It stores weight and the stress of it. The energy of constant thoughts brings in situations of more obstacles and reasons you cannot lose weight. Let the weight go. Let the stress of it go. Instead, be grateful for how you look, do the things that you do to lose weight and instead of doing it to lose, do it because it feels good. Do it because you know it is good for you. Close your eyes and feel how good it feels to be happy with how you look and feel! Feel how good it feels to work out, how good healthy food takes and how good it feels to be you. Look into your eyes in the mirror and be proud of yourself. Do this multiple times a day. Give this a couple weeks and you’ll see improvement.
So, yes, we will have stress. This is simple way to revert stress into positive stress. To stop it from having so much power over us. We put so much belief in being human is hard, but it does not have to be. We literally feel and live each day the way we believe it should look. So, put power to the thoughts that happiness and less stress in easy, instead of the toxic stress. Heal your mind. Heal your life.
